Boudoir, alcove or chambre: depends on what MEANING you intend to use the word "bedroom" for.

Boudoir--tends to carry an erotic / romantic tone. Pretty much rated PG-13, R......or (a-hemmmm) X!! (c'est bon!)

Alcove: literally means "bedroom in house"; gives a general home description. Defintely rated G.

Chambre: I hear this word spoken, I get images of a stone walled castle. In my mind's eye, such a bedroom would be more spooky than comfy or erotic......
