American Soldier ¿How it was your experience in Iraq War? and What do you think of to have participated in the war?

Iraq was a combination of tedium, long hours, hard work, stress and constant low level fear.

I am proud of my service in Iraq and feel that we are doing the 'right thing.'

As far as I am concerned - all of the people with their political opinions can FOAD. I truly feel that our actions will be vindicated by future historians.

While I love my job and am proud to serve, there was nothing fun about being there. I was there for the initial invasion and I saw things I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. It was insanely hot, and the heat definitely gets to your head after awhile. The hardest part was being away from my wife and our son and the rest of my family. Not a moment went by where I didn't think of them. Every morning I wondered if I was even going to get the chance to meet my kid.
After 4 deployments, I have clearly seen the difference we are making. It is very slow progress and it is difficult for all our men. But compared to what Iraq was like when we 1st invaded, it it slowly changing. The only problem is that it is very difficult to build a strong enough government to keep all our hard work from going to waste.

It was hot. I never thought I could produce that much sweat. I also never thought I'd get acclimated to it, but I did.

I am proud to have participated, and proud that I'm on my way back over there shortly.

You may not get many answers to this. Most combat vets really don't care to talk about it much.

the expierience...hmm..well its hard to explain, its just a job really. i am proud to have served.
