Is it ok to use scotch tape? My brother is trying to say it is, but I 'm not sure. Thanks in advance :)

I'm splicing the indoor christmas lights. My cat has this habit of chewing on wires, especially if its going to tick off my mother.

Scotch tape does not insulate against electricity, so your brother is incorrect. Use electrical tape, wire nuts, solder, and / or shrink wrap depending on the type of wire you are splicing!

I wouldn't use scotch tape at all... electrical tape, in a pinch. That's only for a quick fix... Never leave it like that.

What type of wire are you splicing, myself I'd use the colored barrels, that you crimp the wires into
