I am currently shooting skeet and lost all my other chokes
I only have a full choke
Can I shoot my 20 gauge remington 870 pump with no choke in it???

Will it mess up the grooves in the barrel where the regular choke goes?

It can be done though its not somthing i would practice or advise, A friend of mine shot a round of sporrting befor he relised he had not put any chokes in, it did the gun no harm though if it were done offten im sure some damage would accure
I would listen to the advice offerd by JD which is more ar less the same as i would have offered.
just remember in the long run it would be cheaper to buy a new set of chokes then a new gun/barrel or a repaie bill.

While you can shoot it, your groups will be pretty poor, and you may foul the choke threads with plastic, or worse yet, lead fouling that might need a chemical cleaner to remove. Steel would likely just take the rifling out. A barrel with a thin-walled choke tube is going to see these effects more than a thick walled choke tube.

If you don't plan on using a choke on that barrel ever again, you shouldn't have much of a problem just shooting without, but it might be a wise idea to cut the front 3" or so off, so long as there's enough barrel to do it legally. If you're looking for a home defense barrel with a wider spread, Mossberg does make inexpensive barrels for Remingtons. I'd take a look at those. http://www.outdoorsuperstore.com/product.asp?prod=469481

yes, it will mess up the threads in the end of the barrell! Just go get another choke tube, or use the full choke for skeet...think of how much you'll improve!

BAD IDEA...Your shotgun won't blow up but it will sustain damage..I would not recommend you do this. Shooting your 870 without a choke can easily damage the internal threads your chokes screw into...Simply buy another set of screw in choke tubes. These can be purchased seperately/directly thru Remington.com or from your local Firearms Dealer.Replacement 20 gauge 870 Express/Wingmaster Choke tubes cost about $21 each.......

NO!!!! Don't do that or you will be buying a new barrel. It will destroy the grooves in your barrel! It can also blow the end of your barrel in two! This is no laughing matter!!! (I am not saying this,...my husband is and he knows what he is talking about)

DON'T DO IT!

YOU'LL WRECK THE CHOCK THREADS AND NEED A GUNSMITH TOO REPAIR THE DAMAGE!
