It really bothered me to see the Team #48 in the corner of the balcony at the banquet. Why couldn't they be at the table with Jimmie and Chad--they participated in his win too! I think it's crappy of Nascar to not have them at their own table.

It's always been that way. I do not think that logistically they are able to do that. Yes the entire team is responsible for the championship, but there are hundreds of people that make up that team. Also the 24 team and the 5 team and the 25 team helped in that championship.

I agree with you as well. I've been watching the banquet for eight years now and every year, the championship crew is on a balcony, no where near their driver. They just never seem to get any credit except for just a statement by an announcer every once in a while. These guys should have a much more prominent place in relation to the rest of the "loosing" teams.

I think it is wrong. There are a lot of people on that floor that are not drivers or owners, this is a big building. Oops, forgot we have to cater to the sponsors and all of their groupies. If they can not find room for all of the top 12 teams, then they should at the very least make room for the #1 team. Without a jackman or fuel man or tire changer, the races would be pretty short - a matter of who had the best fuel mileage and who did not blow a tire. I guess they could always race 30 mph for 500 miles - NOT! Let's move the awards to Vegas and find some real entertainment and a party. Now that could get interesting.

Where do you draw the line on who gets to sit at the table? Do the design engineers and engine department get to sit there as well? Because they played just as much of a factor in Jimmie winning the championship as his pit crew did. And what about the rest of the teams? Shouldn't they get to sit at the tables with their drivers as well?

It's fine the way it is.

Its always been like that. Last year they did the same thing. I think the guys were honored just being able to be at the banquet and be mentioned numerous times during the ceremony as some drivers wouldnt even thank their crew because of their ego. I think they deserved the dinner and having their wives there and sitting together at their own table.

... I agree. That struck me as odd too. They looked like the old grumpy men on the Muppet Show that use to sit in the balconies and heckle everyone. They should get a bigger room. Maybe moving the awards to Vegas is not such a bad idea.

... Those guys are just as much responsible for Jimmie winning as Jimmie is. They put out a lot of hard work and training and deserve to be treated better than just people in the backgound. Give them a table with everyone else.

I totally agree with you that they should all sit together at one table , besides their the ones that help fix the car and get it running right and making really fast pit stops . If it wasn't for them , there would be no team and Jimmie wouldn't be a champion.

They will get steak after Chad K. gets off his knees. Jimmy has enough for all of them...

Wow , are you serious? Is this question for real? Why is this the pick-a-part Nascar section? Did they get wine with there non-steak dinner because you should be the official whine supplier of Nascar. Your car number would have a negative before it.
Like -43 or something. JEEZ!

EDIT: I am convinced all of you people have lost your freakin' mind's! Come on. Listen to yourselves. The only thing I've learned from Yahoo Answers is the more negative's I get just means I'm right.
