The AF does take prior service, I have a guy in my shop who served in the Army. Exactly what is an RE-3G code? It could depend on the career field you want as well. I guess we need more info to help ya!
EDIT: Mustangsally, according to the airforce.com web page, the prior service program IS open again. Please research before you call someone out, ok?? Here is the direct quote from that page. "UPDATE (as of Nov 27th, 2007): Our Enlisted Prior Service Program is open."

Contact a recrutier, They will be able to tell you if they take prior service now.
I went from the Navy to the Air Force but did it within 3 months. this was about 15 years ago....
So check with a recrutier for the information that you are looking for....

The Air Force is taking PS regardless of what people on here say. It depends of the stipulations of your discharge. We usually look for am RE code of 1, but it is on a case by case basis. Call a local recruiter and talk to them.

an RE-3G code is for Condition (not physical disability) interfering with performance of duty.
Take your DD-214 to a recruiter and have him look it over and be prepared to explain why you where given this type of code.
Good luck.

that's a new one on me, the navy and air force do not take prior service unless the mos is "critically necessary" for operations. and good luck with that. what they are trying to do is steer you to is the army because they are the ones who are short of people. your options are the army or the marines. sorry.
