I'm trying to write a funny dialog for my French class and I can't seem to find a good slang term for a vagrant. I already know le clochard, but I was wondering if there were any French speakers out there who knew of a better word.
It can be offensive, so don't hold back. It's for a college class, that's why.

Basically, the character is a crazy homeless guy (no offense to the real homeless) who claims to be "L'esprit de francophone!" and I'm interviewing him. Is there a good word or phrase for "crazy homeless guy" or is le clochard the best?

'clochard' is quite offensive already
'clodo' also.
'sans-abri' is the most used
'sdf' - abreviation of 'sans domicile fixe'
and some other words out of the dictionary:

I'm rather fluent in French, though not a native speaker.
What about "sans demeure " (homeless) or "vagabond" (wandering)? Otherwise "clochard" seems to me being perfect. I don't know any different word.

I think "L'esprit de francophone!" should be "l'esprit de la francophonie."
