There are many posters here who contend that the Bible never condemns the practice. Is this true?

This is what the NIV says. Take it for what it's worth...

Leviticus 20:13 "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

I do think the bible condemns the practice. But then the bible also allows slavery, stoning and other practices we which are completely against the law today (just read through the whole of Leviticus...). It condems wearing mixed fibers which no Christian has a problem with. So I don't think it is regarded as a valid authority in all instances even by Christians. Either it is OK to pick and choose which laws from the bible to accept (and then there is no particular reason why the law against homosexuality should be included) or to accept all laws from the bible - of which several are against current law and others clearly don't make sense for the current time. You decide.

The bible replaced into written by way of guy. Homosexuality is merely noted b4 and after Jesus. on a similar time as Jesus replaced into pay attention in the international he in no way talked against homosexuality, yet he addressed maximum different problems. If this replaced into somewhat a difficulty and this type of terrible sin then Im specific he could of addressed it. He didnt, he instead taught love and confirmed that God chooses human beings dispite their way of existence. besides people who chooose to be gay are those that could problem approximately something i assume, I didnt % to be gay nor did every person i understand, so we cant help it. And final celebate all of our lives would not look an decision in any respect.

Leviticus, huh? Leviticus warns against homosexuality? Guess what else is offensive to God in Leviticus?

Leviticus 11:10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

In other words, thou shalt not have shellfish. I hope that all those who think that the Bible expressly forbids homosexuality do not prize shrimp or lobster too highly...

These are all out of the New Testament, which is the Law we live under.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 -- 9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Romans 1:24-27 -- 24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Since the delusional notion that one is homosexual is of the MIND realm, and it is maintained as a Defense Mechanism of the MIND, it is neither real nor honest.

The Bible speaks throughout its pages warning the reader to constantly chose between the things of Man, and those of God, or Spirituality. The MIND is the seat of ones ego, and as such it is the sustainer of ones false identity... regardless what the nature of that identity might be.

Life demands that the MIND do its thing insuring that one adhere to ones Fate Karma. Christ said do not judge... primarily because He knew that such judgment was simply an exercise of ones ego and thus, not based on anything of value to ones life. When you generate a negative thought, that thought creates a binding Karmic due bill that must eventually be paid. The wise person looks to his/her own faults as sufficient to think about.

Peace

People cite Sodom and Leviticus (as someone just has) to prove that the Bible does, in fact, back up the fundamentalists, Republicans, and assorted bigots who hate homosexuals.

You bet the bible is full of bigotry and ignorance.

The bible also says that is is OK to murder your children for cursing you. The bible says that it is OK to sell your sister into slavery for debts. The bible also says that a rape victim must marry her rapist. I could go on.

Even according to your buy-bull, Jesus never said one word about homosexuals. He spoke of marriage, yes, but he did not say the word ONLY between a man and a woman.

NO NO, God is not an ignorant bigot, but Christians certainly are.

the bible also states that a man named Lot had sex with his teenage daughters, but he was still a good man. lot gave his daughters to a group of men who raped them rather than to give them his house guest(a man). you must kill anyone who works on the sabbath, anyone who wears clothing made up of two different fabrics or wear jewelery.

why would anyone look to such a book for guidance?
parts of it are as morbidly absurd and disgusting as "Mein kampf". Grow up people stop looking to disgusting literature and fictional entities to legitimize your own hatred and bigotry.
