It is best to get him something that he can use year round which counts out the snowboard and skateboard so I would say that you should get him something from the gators. Maybe a Gators sweatshirt that he can wear while he skateboards and snowboards.

Go to a skateboarding store and get him a jacket or pants...or even a gift card from the store and he could pick what he wants.

As impersonal as they sound i think gift vouchers are a great idea for any one that is difficult to buy for. They will always get the right size, colour or product that suits them because they chose it them selves. Just to prove your not being lazy offer to go shopping with him. Merry Christmas

Just play around with him one day and ask him questions about christmas ! Ask questions about the weirdest thing he has gotten and his favorite gift he has gotten and go off of that!! he might come on out and tell you!! Or you could always give him the money you would spend on him!

At 14 years old, you should not be dating... and you probably have no job so how will you pay for the gift anyway? I think you should draw him a picture and buy him a bag of candy.
