Qualiative data is data that cannot be measured. Some examples would be color Ex: the bird is blue. OR temp. Today is 9 degrees. Quantitative data can be measured. For example, There are nine people standing in front of me. Hope this helps

Qualtitative is concerned with no quantifiable things, e.g. no numbers involved. Quantitative is concerned with numerical things. E.g. what colour is your house/what flavour crisp do you like best - All qualitative things. What is your salary/how tall are you - All quantitative things. Edit for ammendment: I can't think of any examples where a collection of quantitative data from one piece of research, could then be used directly in a piece of qualitative research. This is the best I can think of: E.g. Collecting the number of visited football games for different football teams by a person. (quantitative research). Determining which football team that person supports, (a qualitative question), which can be answered (using some assumptions) with the quantitative information.

"Qualitative data" is data that relies on observation and interpretation as opposed to numbers, and may be depicted using a variety of media.
"Quantitative data" is data based strictly on numerical measurements.
