The Holy Bible and one's own faith is the true authority. You must listen to your inner voice and no priest. They are there only to conduct rituals and prayers; nothing more than that.

The true authority is God, followed by His Son, Jesus Christ. The problem is, we can know Him only through our life's experiences, by reading the Bible, and by listing to the Pope, the Church, the ministers and priests.
If their is a conflict, the Bible has more authority than the Pope. Of course, there is so much difference between the different versions of the Bible. Modern folk claim that the Bible was not interpreted/translated correctly from its original parchments. Some say we need to include the Dead Sea Scrolls, etc.
Since we ordinary people cannot possibly hope to translate from the originals and we cannot possibly tell what changes were made (intentionally or not) we just have to go with what we feel is RIGHT (and correct).

If you are a Catholic then you should listen to the Holy Scriptures, Holy Tradition, the Pope, and the Catholic Church, none of which contradict each other.

If you are not a Catholic then you are giving up some of the revelation that the Holy Spirit has blessed us with over the past 2,000 years.

With love in Christ.

The Catholic Church follows the Bible and sacred oral tradition. Not everything the Church knows to be true is written in the Bible, but the Church will never do anything that goes against scripture.

It is like a 3-legged stool. All three legs must be there for the stool to be strong and reliable. All three things must be there in understanding the teachings of Christ. Sacred Scripture, sacred tradition and the magesterium.

Christ gave the Church authority. The Church uses that authority to help guide the faithful to heaven. That is her responsibility. Jesus said to Peter "feed my sheep." That is what the Church has done.

As a lone person, you cannot be sure that what you read and interpret from the Bible is correct. That is why we have tradition and authority as well. We can use these things as checks and balances to make sure we aren't running amok with our interpretations. It's easy to do...being fallible and sinful people we cannot trust our own "take" on things.

The understanding of God's will for us and our salvation, of the Bible and of the early Christians has been understood and adhered to since the beginning. The Catholic Church only passes down this information from age to age...the Church doesn't make it up. The Church has been charged with the responsibility of leading the people of God. This is not to be taken lightly and certainly shouldn't change with the tide of popular opinion.

One thing's for sure, the Church has remained steadfast in her promise to Christ and to his followers.

So, in following the Catholic Church you are following the Bible, the Apostles and most importantly Christ.

The Bible teaches that it is Scripture that is to be used as measuring stick to determine truth from error. In Galatians 1:8-9, Paul states that it is not WHO teaches but WHAT is being taught that is to be used to determine truth from error. While the Roman Catholic Church continues to pronounce a curse to hell “anathema” upon those who would reject the authority of the Pope, Scripture reserves that curse for those who would teach a different gospel (Galatians 1:8-9).

The answer to your question is very simple. If you crack a history book and/or research the net a little, you'll find the bible originated with the Catholic Church, borne out of Her Sacred Traditions.

But please don't take my word for it. Look it up.

By the way, if the Church as no authority to interpret the bible, then who does? You? Me? Some guy in China?

Whose interpretation is right? How do we know its right? By what authority do you interpret the bible?

Care to answer my questions?

God bless.

Not the Pope no. If you like RC then come to the Orthodox Church. Orthodox is the first church created by the Apostles. RC formally began in 1054ad when the Roman Orthodox Bishop left the Orthodox Church.

Hi,

It is like this. Do you listen to the dictates of your professor to understand nuclear physics or physical chemistry or even Shakespeare plays or are you expert enough to go to the library and figure out everything yourself and be qualified to teach others in these fields?

In other words people be they the Pope or ministers or TV evangelists for that matter are a little sharper on the theology than you or me so though you can ask and certainly question, it never hurts to give them an ear.

right here is the respond, all human beings PLEASE examine. In Jesus's time and long earlier that no one replaced into like Christ or had the skill to do the flaws he reported, or have the learning he gave. using fact no one had his teachings yet. Then the visual attraction of Christ replaced into time-venerated and he replaced into now on earth. while he replaced into leaving the earth Peter replaced into the closest to Christ in assessment using fact the main knowledgeable of the apostles. So Christ desperate to make him the hot instructor, using fact Christ did no longer % to leave the earth without instructor. What i'm asserting is, there replaced into in basic terms some men that ought to coach like Jesus 2000 years in the past. In at present's international there are thousands. to illustrate Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is greater like Christ then any pope. The catholic church made the perception that there could in basic terms be one like Christ at a undeniable time, and that one, could be granted the call of pope meaning father. while in Matthew 23:9 it says, call no guy your father in the international, for you have one Father, who's in heaven. The catholic church has made the perception that peter replaced into the 1st pope while certainly Peter replaced into the 2nd taecher after Christ. The catholic church is brushing off all instructors who're no longer catholics to be a pretend instructor. this is definitely a sin. maximum catholics you notice at present will say this is merely there way and not the protestants way, yet im no longer speaking approximately different religons, im speaking approximately people who've stumbled on the solutions from interior, by way of non secular procedures, no longer a undeniable set of ideals. i cant have self belief human beings think of its that straightforward. The universe and Jesus christ at the instant are not so trouble-free. cutting-part technology is telling us we are able to in basic terms understand 5% of the universe. God says he's countless and there is countless awareness. religon will stop human beings from employing there mind
