I think a fast way to get your room into a design that you want to is by adding/changing 2 things.
1. Bring in a rug! To make your room look cool and teenish try a really stylish electric blue or hot pink rug. When you add that, the second you walk into your room, you're going to notice the rug and feel the energy and excitement hehe.
2. Change your blanket. Blankets are another big item in a room that you can add and it will change the vibe in a room. Change it to some color that you like, maybe have it be the same color as your carpet, so both things will make the room look more coordinated. =)
you dont have to choose pink or blue of course, pick a color that you like, then you will love your room! :)

1] pick two or three favorite colors - use them for bedding in a print you really like [ flowers, geometric, stripe, etc. ]. Get curtains to match, and throw pillows in the bedding colors [ three max ], or the same print.
2] paint the walls the lightest color of the print, or the color you like most.
3] add small accessories in one of the other colors, and in ONE metal color [ brass, chrome, copper ] - lamps/shades, flower pots, ornaments, vases, candles/holders. Put all non- matching items in cute storage containers [ like a makeup case, or pretty box for desk supplies ].
4] buy art that repeats the colors or theme of the room - in paintings, photos, posters, floral wreath or swag, etc.

Paint it a refreshing color, like "springtime" by sherwin williams (a light yellow-green), and paint the ceiling & any trim "vanillin."

Then totally contrast the wall color by doing all of the other decor in lavender. Artwork:

Decorating is easy when you narrow down your color palette to only two or three colors. Only include things in your room that are those colors and people will see the beauty of the colors, instead of being distracted by a lot of mismatched things in the room.
