You want to make sure she has a good Christmas? Leave her alone. Don't go trying to "win her back". Too much bad water under that bridge. When you break things, even if you put them back together, they are still broken. Ask any porcelain collector: You can SuperGlue what should have been the most valuable collectors item in the world, and all you have is a broken figurine. How to help the community? Stay sober. Find new friends and stay away from the old ones. Do volunteer work in your spare time. Go to all your Narcotics Anonymous meetings. Get a job. Stay off crack.
But leave your previous girlfriend alone. She doesn't need the hassle. Remember, one of your tasks to maintain sobriety is to acknowledge the things you threw away for your addiction. You gave up many things for your habit. She was one of them. Leave it that way, and move on.

Good Job! That's a tough addiction to beat! Especially now your thinking about others and improving your community! You will have to prove your "new" self to your GF. It'll take time to show her you've changed. That would be the best Christmas present of all to her! If you have enough sobriety behind you, why not speak at a local High School and tell your story. Even if it just effects one person, that's a whole lot! Congratulations to you and have a Wonderful Holiday Season this year!

Forget about the former crackhead getting his GF back. He should concentrate on doing good and doing good deeds if this is what he wants to do.

Surprizer her with some flowers! Also, you could help out by volunteer at a local homeless food center and food drives too.
As for the girl, like I said, girls just love surprizes! And show her that you've really changed by helping her out and her family as well as your!

Go on a rampage and execute every crack dealer in the city, buy some flowers, feed the hungry, win the lotto, and go to church.
