No and no. I was born to a Christian mother, was trained up in her Sunday school classes, and gave up going to church after I was confirmed. Then I converted to Catholicism to marry my first husband, and was excommunicated when I divorced him.
I went round and round with different Christian denominations and as many other religions as I could get any information about (never Muslim; I knew I wouldn't be happy there). After more adventures than I could possibly relate here, finally decided that I was using various gods and goddesses as metaphor and myth, as archetypes (I've read Tarot cards for over 30 years), and declared myself an atheist just a couple of months ago.
I've never been able to do "faith." It is too alien to my philosophy major college education and my appreciation for scientific analysis and analytic philosophy.

Yes, I believe there is a higher power out there. However I do not believe that it is in the shape of a man, woman, or any god form. It's just a force of energy and power.
