It can just as well say: there is no respect of persons with death"
as in "death makes no difference whom you are. All die.
The meaning here is, you can't possibly bribe God with anything to get a better deal at heaven.

God is no respecter of persons in that He does not care how good looking you are, how rich you may be, how influential you could be, how talented you are, etc. If you refuse Him, you will spend eternity in darkness without Him. If you accept Him, you are welcome inspite of your well doing or your shortcomings.

We cannot do enough good, give enough money or time, or behave well enough for God. He is holy and we cannot match His holiness. But, if we follow Him through Jesus and His grace, we can have the same access to the Father as those whom we think are "better" (as some think of clergy). God does not care if you are a pastor, a pauper or a window washer. If you love Him, He is there for you just the same.
