After returning from a workout, I found this really tough cyst at the wrist area, right where the hand's joint is. It doesn't hurt or anything, but there's just that bump (feels like a poking bone). The doctor told me not to do anything and that it might go away or it might not. The fact that it's there annoys me...What do you think? (popping isn't an option, it's deep underneath the skin).

It sounds like it may be a ganglion cyst. They can either be treated by physio, aspiration (fluid removed with a syringe) or surgery. Sometimes they disappear spontaneously. They are totally harmless. Unfortunately, whatever you do, they have an annoying habit of coming back.

It's surprising but, most people don't know they have as many as eleven of these cysts on or in their bodies. If it's not bothering you, isn't painful, leave it alone. Some even are absorbed by the body in time.
