People think God is 'human-like' because they've got it all backwards. We were created in God's image and not the other way around. We are imperfect beings living in a fallen world and so it's often hard to see how we could be like God. In addition to that, people often create a 'god' of their own imagination and usually that imaginary being has all of the qualities that they want to assign to him.
Romans 1:20 Ever since the world was created it has been possible to see the qualities of God that are not seen. I'm talking about his eternal power and about the fact that he is God. Those things can be seen in what he has made. So people have no excuse for what they do. 21 They knew God. But they didn't honor him as God. They didn't thank him. Their thinking became worthless. Their foolish hearts became dark. 22 They claimed to be wise. But they made fools of themselves.

We as Christians don't assume there is a God, We know there is a God. Where do you think this world came from? Look in the mirror and you will see one of Gods many miracles, You came from a tiny seed planted in your Mothers womb, where you grew until your birth.Look at all the beautiful things around you. Look at the beauty of all the different races. Only the hand of God could have created such beauty. We cannot see God because He is like the wind, We cannot see the wind, but we know it is there!

Well in some Scriptures it says that god created us in his image, and ever one takes it literally. Well going by that logic imagine a human that can multiply itself limitless in a blink of an eye, multiply its size in a blink of an eye where its bigger than our galaxy, and continues to emerge until its beyond this universe, again in a blink of an eye. Can you shut your eyes and imagine how big the universe is? Can you? This entity is running the universe (this intricate system) and what's beyond 24/7 and us humans try to approach his thinking! How egotistical is that man? The Lord can destroy and create another planet like earth with no problem, because time is not a concept in his realm.

Because we are people and think that we are the "top" of life. So anything above us would have to be too. We don't think outside the box. How could one relate to god if we looked at him as some insectizoid alien?

God is an entity, but Human beings don't regularly deal with formless entities so it's hard for us to grasp the concept. We personify him because it makes it easier to understand. He's not a Man, a Woman, or a Dog, He is God.

Because the Bible says He made us in His image. And if God was more like some other animal, why wouldn't He make that one more powerful and intelligent than us? He gave the organism that was created in His image, the most intelligence.

Well, in the Bible, it does say that "God" created MAN, not DOG, in HIS IMAGE. So man should resemble "God" unless "God" is some retard who can't make stuff.
Come on, honey, we're supposed to be on the smart side.

Well for a lot of us it comes from those scriptures that talk about humans being "made in God's image."
