I just wrote about Harley being so sverely sick. I wasn't able to write the whole darned story because this site doesn't let you write so much. I asked the vet a few times while she was checking out Harley if it was a virus called ParvoVirus and she told me "no, that it was only a mild case of a stomach virus" and to give him antibiotics and an oral cream to help his diarrhea. So, if anyone else wants to be crude about my situation don't say anything at all, because this was not My Fault because my puppy got sick. I did the best that I could for him. The day after he seen the vet, he did drink a bit of water and even moved from his sick bed to come and lay with me and my boyfriend. So that was supposed to be a sign that he was feeling a little better. There was no blood in his poop until I woke up to him dead and found red diarrhea in my bathroom on the floor. Sorry that I trusted my vets word that he would be okay where apparently he was not.

The only way to know for sure would be an autopsy. I didn't get to read whatever you wrote before,,,but it doesn't sound like parvo from the little you said about it here. It also doesn't sound like corona. It sounds like a stomach twist, or intestinal twist . This is when the stomach twists around and in the process tears blood vessels inside it or the intestines. It could also have been something the dog ate, causing a blockage in the intestines. (socks, toys, string, etc) Also cooked animal bones can cause punctures in the stomacher and or intestines and have these symptoms. If you think back to a few days before this happened,,,what did he eat? Did he get a chicken leg? did he chew up a blanket or stuffed toy? All of these things can cause vomiting,,,then death with blood pooled under the dog. Parvo starts out with loss of energy,,then loss of appetite,,,vomiting,,diarrhea,,,then bloody diarrhea,,,Usually it's alot of diarrhea,,and alot of vomiting. Not just one time of diarrhea right at death.

ADD..it's sad if people blamed you. There are alot of hypocrites on here that tell you first thing to SEE A VET,,,then they want to criticize you for trusting what the vet says. Don't let judgmental people get to you.

Sounds like parvo. Corona is not usually fatal. So sorry for your loss:( If you have any other pets, I'd find a new vet.

To add more text to your story, you have to post the beginning, then post it, then go back into it to add more details. I forget how, haven't posted a question in awhile - but there is a way to add more information to your question. The little bit you have here seemed to indicate to me that he had diarrhea before he died and that's what you took him to the vet for, so that's why I think it was probably parvo.

Not Coronavirus.Coronavirus is only in puppies under 6 weekso ld, last @ 24 hours and is not fatal.

From what you posted it also doesn't sound like Parvo..it sounds like something else was going on...without a necropsy it would be impossible to know exactly what caused your puppy's death.

Corona and Parvo have assay checks whose sensitivity is somewhat extreme, detecting as low as 25 50% tissue lifestyle infective doses in line with g of unprocessed feces. this is available for a dogs to have both ailment concurrently, complicating the issue.
