VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia (AP) - Evangelical broadcaster Pat Robertson said [in January 2007] that God has told him that a terrorist attack on the United States would cause a "mass killing" late in 2007.

"I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be nuclear," he said during his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club" on the Christian Broadcasting Network.

"The Lord didn't say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that."

Robertson said God told him about the impending tragedy during a recent prayer retreat.

God also said, he claims, that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.

He is peddling fear, in order to establish:

1) belief in his god
2) continued belief in him as the messenger of his god
3) additional monetary contribution to his ministry

God speaks to His people, plain and simple. Unfortunately, I think Mr. Robertson has not been hearing accurately for the last several years. It seems he has spoken more out of his own discernment or even speculation.

However, God does speak to his people. I know of several times in my life He spoke to my heart and it was right on (as it should be, being from God, and all). Once, He spoke through someone else, a prophet, and every word was right on target (which I knew that it was God, not from this man whom I knew only his name and he didn't even know that much of me.).

If Mr. Robertson indeed heard this from God, this will come to pass. Otherwise, hopefully he will be man enough to admit that he was in error and apologize to anyone he may have frightened.

I am not sure what he means with the attack that God told him about. One thing I have learned is not to keep my eyes on the people. I always test any prophecy that I get or hear with the word of God. Go to the scriptures and read them. I also rely on the Holy Spirit to guide me. Make sure you pray and ask for guidance.

If you look in the Bible you will read that any prophecy is usually up lifting it builds you and gives you encouragement. Lot of ministers of today uses their ministries and prophecies to build up their own ministries and promote them selves.

God will guide you, if anything like this happens you can be sure that God has a reason for that as only God has the power of life and death.

he means that God has given him a word of knowledge. A Word of Knowledge is a spiritual gift mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:8. For example, a Christian knowing detailed information about a stranger is considered a "Word of Knowledge" and allows the Christian to minister to strangers more effectively. At times, a "Word of Knowledge" can come to an individual for his or her personal edification directed by the Holy Spirit of God. Often, a personal "Word of Knowledge" is God's way of prompting an individual in his or her spiritual growth and eventual conformity to the image of His Son Jesus Christ. You may also find more references in 1 Samuel Chapters 9 & 10, Acts 9:11-16, and Acts 10:9-17

Another bible is a socalist leading to bad that's not what it ment. Jesus used in several of his teachings talks about banks and busniess, while not the main point of his storyies he used them in postive light like the story of 3 servents who got money from there masters, 2 of them invested in busniess and return a profit, one just burried the treasure and gave it back. The 2 who made wealth got praised the one who hung on to it got beaten. What the bible is talking about isen't making money or welath this is good for society you can not help the poor if your not making welath, think about it like this hard to make a person in poverty a sandwhich if your not making the bread. The bible also talks about personal property all the time, though shall not steal is a commandment and it is applies to goverments too. Therefore say what you want the bible is against ther personal distrbution of property.

Pat Robertson was gloating on 9/11, and advocates assassination of people who he disagrees with.

Whatever voices this man is listening to has nothing to do with any benevolent entity. His flock should be ashamed of themseves for enabling this sort of behavior.

He has said stuff like this before....and he is claiming to be what is called prophesying. One way to see if he is a true 'prophet' and if God spoke to him is if it comes true. If it does not come true and it does not coincide with what the Scriptures say, then he is not telling the truth.
God speaks to Christians thru the Holy Spirit, often guiding people in their calling, sometimes giving them a message to give, but like I said, it has to be biblical and it has to come true..to be a true word from God.
Not all Christians are "crazy' and God is still speaking thru His Word.

Well if such an event doesn't occur, does that mean God isn't omniscient or that Pat Robertson is full of it?

The math is on his side, and maybe it wasn't his god but inside sources at the Whitewash House, who know they're about to be swept out of power.

Pat Robertson and his followers are all delusional. Anyone who claims to hear God is lying or mentally ill.
