I have 4 cats at the moment. Inky, is 16, Dinky is 16 too. Pinky is 4, and Perky is 7.

I would say an average is about 19 years. Some go to 20 or even more. One of my cats was 21 when she died. Two of my cats are 16. Both of them are very strong, aside from a bit of arthritis and Inky has only a few teeth.

Basically the better quality of life they have, the more likely their life span is to improve. I would say 15-16 years is more suitable as an average.

If a cat remains indoors and is well cared for, the usual life span is around 16 - some live longer, some less. My last cat was 21 and never sick a day in her life and never missed a meal - until the very end. My existing cat is 17, has numerous health problems, has been to the vets about 50 times in the last 5 years and probably will not make it to 18.

8 cat years is about 46 in human years. Vets now consider 8 cat years to entering into a senior cat phase. So be sure she has a vet exam every year and the vet will probably want to do a blood panel for her to check kidney, liver function, hormone levels (thyroid) etc.

Be sure she has a good quality food and is not overweight. Unfortunately cats do get cancers which can take their lives early. Otherwise she has many good years left to bring joy into your life.

Another 8 or 9 yrs depending on the type of care and if she is spayed and if she is an indoor cat or not..indoor spayed cats live longer..mine lived a ripe old age of 20.

cats have a longer life expectancy than dogs. Mine lived to 20 and 17.

Make sure you have a senior wellness test done at age 8 to check her heart, kidney function and liver to make sure she's not ailing in any way.

If she's an indoor (only) cat, and has been checked regularly by a vet (and pronounced healthy), she can live a long time....16-20 years. BUT.....it is VERY important to get her checked REGULARLY, cause she can develop a number of problems, as she ages........kidneys, liver, diabetes, etc. Be a good "mama" and get her checked often, now. Good luck....

She could have had a faux being pregnant. yet by permitting her to be bred by any tom in the community, you're putting her at severe possibility for many genetic problems, FELV, FIP, etc. And its very plausible that the persevered "breeding" will reason you to lose each and every of the kittens as they are going to be conceived at distinctive circumstances and an prolonged time and whilst she ultimately has them, some could be untimely and stillborn, or the "older" kittens can die by not being born on the final time.

they are expected to live until they are 16. some may only lie til 12/13 if they hae heart/other health probs. some cats lie to 19. our eldest was either just 19 or nearly 19 when we had to have her put down. she had kidney probs her last few months.
