I am 40yrs old. I dont wear glasses when I read, or do any type of up close inspection, for my job. I do notice things beginning to lose their sharpness at about 3 feet away. I dont mind wearing glasses. I just want the sharpest vision I can get and notice that my new glasses, the last couple of times, seem to cause me problems with any peripheral vision. Wouldnt mind getting glasses for reading. I just didnt know how that would be affected with the surgery, if I dont currently need them now, for reading. Thanks

It depends upon your age. If you are not 45 to 50, it most likely will not affect that. The only thing lasik surgery does is to alter the lens on the front of the eyeball. It also damages the clear nerves that are in that area of the eye that causes you to know when you need fluid. The "flap" configuration can minimize this damage.

This is one of the most incredible advances to the human journey that has happened since man was put on this earth. It takes about 10 seconds, no pain, and very easy for each eye. You will say, "is that all there is to this?" I had it done and it has changed my life.

Don't get the option to give you one eye close up vision and the other one long vision. This will screw up your binocular vision and give you depth perception problems. Pilots cannot get or keep their license if they get this option.

good luck to you
