"Follow the teachings of the bible and feel sorry for your sins"

If that translates into being good, kind, and giving and feeling bad when you screw up then ok, I do that.

I'm sure most christians still feel I'm going to hell-at least the born agains do.

I'm a Christian and I believe God gives everyone second chances. And sometimes people believe in God but have their doubts. And I belive God is all forgiving and that atheists, some of them anyway, might still make it to Heaven. And if they feel bad for their sins and stay close to teachings of the Bible then that is a good thing. Sometimes it can be hard for some people in accept Jesus as their Savior and belive in God completely. And so I pray that God will help these peole out, even in their darkest hours.

No, it's not 100% certain you will go to hell. Even if you went to hell and cried out for Jesus to save you, he would. Nothing is greater than love, but many people will end up in hell because of love. Because they loved the wrong things. (Love of money, love of flesh) If you are sorry for your sins, you are a good person. A little bit of God is inside of all of us and that's what makes us feel sorry for our sins. Because we know it's wrong and we want to be better. As long as you are human, you will make mistakes. Only God is perfect. I am a Christian.

I once asked a somewhat similar question, "How do we, Christians, justify condemnation of atheists?" I think that my best answer might help with your question too. So let me first give you my question so that you can understand exactly what it was that I was asking:

"Allow me to first make it very clear to you that I am indeed a faithful Christian. I also understand that Christianity claims that you must choose Jesus as your substitute in Hell, or you will not be saved. I would like to now hear some of your opinions on my thinking....

Simply summarized, Gandhi, through an absolutely non-violent way of life, led India to freedom from tyranny. He is now one of the world's greatest role models of peace. However, he did not choose Jesus as his savior, instead he chose the Hindu path to salvation.

Now, use your imagination;Mother Teresa aided countless victims of poverty in their time of greatest need. Now imagine her, hypothetically, dying as an atheist.

As a Christian, do you honestly, with the greatest love of your heart and conscience, believe that it is morally correct for these two incredible people to endure everlasting suffering in Hell for not choosing Jesus? What about compassionate people who have never even heard of Jesus or Christians?"

Alright, that was my question. Now, you have to understand that we, as humans, try to apply absolute terms to everything we know, but when we're asked questions about God and the after-life, we find ourselves at a loss for words. So the responses I received couldn't have possibly given an entirely certain answer since we don't currently have any form of science which could provide absolute results. However, my best answer provided a very satisfying insight. First of all, our sense of judgment could never possibly equalize the morality of our all-knowing Creator, so that alone flaws my original question since I was trying to make a better judgment than God. Second, we know that God is infinitely loving, so we also know that God will seek what is best for us.

In conclusion, *don't worry about it!* God is infinitely loving, and He already has it all covered. So is it 100% certain that atheists are going to hell? No, but it is 100% certain that atheists will be given the best and fairest judgment possible. Whatever His judgment may be, God will be just in His judgments. In this I have faith.

I think it depends on the sect. Some protestan sects allow the possibility that either everyone "gets saved", or that leading a good life is enough to get you to heaven.

Any catholic want to explain the confession thing? I seem to remember they might be in trouble if they haven't confessed everything before dying. Hell or purgatory?

EDIT
------
Forgot your other Q, I'm an atheist, so no denomination.

depends on the sect of christianity.

Most think it matters, some don't

I personally don't see why a god would require people to worship it. I would have thought it would be completely irrelevant. Perhaps that's why I'm an atheist

I always presume Dante is more or less Canon, so apparently I'll be going to the first circle of hell at the very least, where the righteous unbelievers are chucked.
