the earlier in the day that exercise is performed the better off you will be. lifting weights before sleep is the absolute worst time. to give your body sufficient nutrients to effectively start the recovery process you need to get in at least 2 meals after a session of heavy weight training. resistance training is catabolic by nature so going to sleep in this catabolic state is far from optimum for muscle growth. 60% of muscle growth occurs at night but "only" if the body has had sufficient nutrients and calories over the course of the day.

the simplest answer is this. the best time is whenever is best for you.. with todays busy schedules, it is hard to stay consistent with a training regimen. too many people make too many excuses why they dont have time, so find a time and make it work.. however, research shows that your levels of GH ( growth hormone) are higher in the morning after a nights rest, as opposed to evening, therefore, your body may be in a better anabolic state during the morning hours, you may have more energy, better training sessions, and incresed recovery if you train in the morning as apposed to the evening. the only other thing i will comment on is that after training, i am usually unable to get to sleep right away afterwards if i train in the evening. it takes an hour or 2 for me to wind down and relax after training, so if i train in the evening, i try to make sure it is a couple hours before bedtime so i dont have trouble falling asleep. there is nothing bad or unhealthy about training in the evening, i just prefer to do it earlier in my day.

Just have a proper diet rich in fiber and protein and try to cut all the unhealthy stuff from your diet atlhough its good to enjoy. Dont binge on unhealthy stuff any other time. You should also exercise 3-5 times a week and you should definitely see results in a couple of weeks. Learn more here:
