Just wondering, for future reference. Does some other place fix it?

I actually work in a Wal-Mart photolab as the Manager and I can tell you, we do have software that can help. It won't "fix" the picture but it can lighten it up a little.

It's called "Histogram". We can make it lighten the picture, enhance the blacks and whites...everything.
Don't expect a miracle, however, it is only basic software.

Lastly, we don't HAVE to do this for customers. In fact, depending on the friendlyness of your local Wal-Mart...and the intelligence, they may say no, or may not do it.

If they are smart enough, or kind enough (because it only really takes 4 seconds to do) they should charge you for a custom reprint..which shouldn't be more than 30 cents a copy for a 4x6.

If you really want to rub it in their face when they say "no, we do not have that option"

Tell them its under adjust, in the pic screen!

Hopefully that helps!

Some can not sure who. I can and many on here can. I would scan it into my computer and edit it with a Photoshop or Picasa something like that. Then e-mail the picture to Wal-Wort for a Print. So, I guessing if we can fix it Wal-Wort probably can too.
