Leviticus 20:13 says that if a man lies with a man as he lies with a woman, he should be put to death.

This is NOT saying ANYTHING about homosexuality. This is misunderstood. What this is talking about is being true to yourself.

If you are straight, you should not sleep with a man and if you are gay, you should not sleep with a woman.

Leviticus 20:13 says NOTHING against gays and I am tired of people warping it to make it seem like it does.

What do you think?

If you can't understand how simple " do not lie with a man as if with a woman" is. Then there is no use in trying to teach you anything else. As you clearly already have twisted what is there and accepted it.

You can't change what the bible says due to modern ways of speaking. Doesn't work that way.

And actually the proper way is not death, but is an abomination to G_D which is an item higher than sin.

Leviticus 18:22
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Well, aren't you clever? I never heard it explained like that but my immediate reaction is to agree with you ~ no time needed to think about this one.

I read a web site recently about homosexual christians and it explained several misinterpreted areas of the bible re: homosexuality. I wish I could find that again. Their interpretations of the bible made perfect sense to me, as does your interpretation of Leviticus 20:13.

Kudos to you brave free thinker.

No, it doesnt come out and say " Hey, being a queer is a sin" verbatim. And i do disagree with your reasoning. When it said "if a man lies with a man as he lies with a woman, he should be put to death.", it meant exactly that. No, not that we would kill a homo now, but God meant for men to be with women. Why do you think he made Adam and Eve, instead of Adam and Evan?
If you're queer, just know that God loves you, but that he deeply wants you to change your ways.

The Bible says Homosexuality is sin!
Ro 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.
Ro 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Ro 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Ro 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Ro 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Ro 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Doing the things of gay is sin
Ro 1:27
27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

You're right in that this passage does not condemn one who is gay. Rather it comdemns those who engage in homosexual acts.

The remainder of your interpretation of this passage is dead wrong. The fact is that, throughout history, men and women have slept in communal same sex arrangements....whether one is speaking of school, harems, military....whatever. This is the normal course of events. What is the sin is engaging in sexual activity with those of one's own gender as is plainly detailed by the verses. That anyone, such as yourself, choose to spin this meaning to justify what is obviously your predilection is simple and unjustifiable rationalization to make their own activities permissible even when one knows they are not.

Quite true. It doesn't actually say there that homosexuality is a sin. It merely says they should be put to death. So that's alright, then.

That's a very liberal interpretation of the sentence, I might add. Shame the huge majority don't share that reading of it.

I think that twisting the words of the Bible to justify your actions is something that every religious person does, and no religious person should do.

Welcome to the club.
