I want to save some shekels by buying one of those 25 pound sacks at Costco. Have read suggestions to decant into smaller containers and put in freezer, but my freezer won't hold 25 pounds of flour!

What works for you, to keep flour at ambient temperature? Can you give me specific examples of large containers I could use? thanks!

I bought a set of plastic storage canisters from Wal-Mart. Think large tupperware. They have air-tight lids. The biggest one holds about 10 pounds of AP flour. The next size down holds bread flour, next size is self-rising, next one is sugar. I keep them in my office where it's always cool and dry. They stack neatly too. No problems so far!

You can use any size container; the most important thing is to keep it air tight and dry. Keep the large bag dry and use a smaller container in the kitchen for regular use. Make sure you close the bag well when you're done. I hope you bake alot.

Those large cans that popcorn come in during the holidays or any large container that is air and water tight. But if you don't use a lot of flour, it's best to buy 5lbs. at a time.
