Nope. Jesus of Nazareth might have been, though.

Well since Nazereth didn't actually exist at the supposed time of Christ, then no, "Jesus of Nazereth" was not a real, historical person.

Jesus the Christ on the other hand, may have been, although there is virtually no contemporary proof of it.

First off Jesus was never FROM Nazareth he was a Nazarite which is much different, but the fundies don't want you to know that. If you get a real bible, not a modern Jimmy and Jimmy mellow speak version of the bible it will actually tell you that, and Nazarites were described in the bible as vegetarians, who were scholars that did not shave their beards or cut their hair. But did he live 2000 years ago - maybe.

All we are able to understand for specific is that, by approximately fifty 5 advert, there became right into a turning out to be band of people calling themselves Christians and telling thoughts of what they believed a guy named Jesus had accomplished 20-25 years previously. have been any of those thoughts based on a actual guy or woman? we are going to probably in no way understand. i think of that's probable that a number of them have been based on actual activities, and the thoughts grew and became further and extra astounding and magnificent over the years confident, human beings did save documents back then - the Romans stored very distinctive documents - yet not one of the Roman documents point out Jesus or any of the activities in the gospels. The Torah isn't a checklist of activities that became into written as they occurred - it rather is a checklist of the thoughts and myths that the Israelites have been telling approximately their history whilst they have been slaves in Babylon. there is no historic data that they have been ever slaves in Egypt, or that Moses ever existed.

Well they've found references to him, but they say that it was such a common name at the time that noone can be entirely sure. But they have found no definitive proof, no. Not to mention that many of the events named in the Bible do not correspond to those that happened in real life. Exodus as an example, history refers to none of the events that supposedly took place, so who knows.

There isn't a lot of concrete, absolute evidence that such a person actually existed, however I am perfectly willing to accept that there may very well have been such a dude: a wise Rabbi who came up with the amazing concept that it would be great if everyone was actually nice to each other for a change.

For all who have believed the Word of God, repenting and being born again, there could be no doubt the Jesus lived, died and was resurrected.

For when a man is born again, the spirit that is in him that is dead because of sin is reborn, renewed through the blood of God's only begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

And Jesus lives in the hearts of all who believe. All who believe are baptized into Christ through his blood and are known as the Church or the bride.

So does Jesus exist? Certainly.

How can one be sure? By searching for him with all of the heart. He is always knocking on the doors of men's hearts. Most will not let him in. If you really want to known if Jesus is real, ask him into your heart and really mean it.

For a man must be born again to enter the kingdom of God.

I don't believe that such a person ever existed.
Sorry.

The passage in Josephus appears to be a later addition by a religious author and all the other supposed references are dubious also, many of them being in direct contradiction to what we know to be the actual events of the times.

Possibly, but there is no evidence from contemporary Roman historical records (and they were good record keepers). the first historical record appears in the documents of Josephus, who wrote several decades after the assumed death of Jesus.

I believe that a man of that name may well have existed but that the stories about him have been greatly exaggerated and mistranslated over the years.
I do not believe he was the son of a god.
