I am hoping to purchase a Playstation 3 80GB from Hong Kong. i am just wodering whether PS2 games bought from England (PAL) would work on this PS3? Does anyone know?

Previous answerer is right. PS3 games are region free, but PS1/2 games and movies aren't. UK is a PAL region, while HK is NTSC J.

No they won't. PS3 games are region free but PS1 and PS2 games, DVDs and blu-ray movies are still region locked.

nope they wouldnt because ps2 games are region locked so u have to buy hong kong ps2 games sry
