Or to be a hypocrit? I ask this because a response by a former questioner to myself suggested they didn't look down on others because they weren't on a religious pededstal? My thought is if you think your better than others you are looking down? Your thoughts?

Guitarman I regularly see people assail the behaviours of Christians and assail them for being self rigtheous or hypocrits. My thought is if you think you are better than those who you are criticizing then you must be perfect yourself. My point is to show how ridiculous this view point really is. All of us have sinned whether you call yourself a theist or an atheist.

Nah: Professor Dawkins looks down on everyone who disagrees with his rabid atheism, & who doesn't worship, with him, at the altar of The Selfish Gene.

I look down upon all who are shorter than I, and look up to all those who are taller.

No, you don't have to be a Christian or theist to be condescending. I know some atheists who are (sadly) VERY self-absorbed, hypocritical, and who looks down on others. However, a vast majority of the Christian population (or, as I hear, a very VERY loud minority of Christians) are like that. It depends on the person, not their (lack of) religion.

We are not to judge one another. Because we will be judged with the same measure that we have used to judge other. Why are people picking on Christians? It is really bad today.

Only if we are taller.

Just kidding

No self righteousness is a sin. Sometimes Christians are confident and not looking down on you at all. But if they truly are looking down on someone God will Judge them. He judges the house of God before he judges unbelievers.

I don't personally know of any Christians who think they're better than anyone else, dear one. The only thing that makes us DIFFERENT from a non-believer is that we are forgiven. You can be as well, all you have to do is ask!

God bless!

It is very common for people to look down on others no matter what their religious beliefs. It makes them feel better about themselves to put someone else down.

It would not make sense if that was the case. It would assume that Christianity was the true religeon. Which it is not.
