And it is our obligation to make a positive contribution to saving rainforest, protecting endangered species, abating global warming, etc., out of obligation to those future generations. To the degree that religiously narcissitic people cannot get over the fact that the world will not end with them, our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc., will suffer.

No, the "end times" was a designation for the Jews prior to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. Now there is a difference between the "end times" and the "End Time." I will leave it to you to flush that out.
