i have 4 shih tzu just treat him as normal lots of cuddles buy him a new toy or some chews,i bought one of mine a basket this year as he needed a new one.happy birthday sage

I'm glad you gave the age and named the breed, because, for a moment, I thought you were talking about your "homey"! ;)
Fortunately, animals have no knowledge of and couldn't care less about birthdays (possibly, a lesson for us all!). However, that shouldn't stop you from getting him a special toy or chew treat or playing with him an extra-long time, etc, etc, etc. Of course, you should ask your parents before doing anything "special".

Throw a huge dog party get balloons and if you want to, you can invite so,me of the dogs and their owners thatr u know to stop by for a party! I once had a HUGE party and we got put in the newspaper!

Take him to petsmart and let him pick out toys,bones,etc. Spend lots of time with him and just love him. Loving him is the best thing he would want (:
