Before I looked up what they were, I thought you were talking about something very strange. Purity balls are strange, just not in the way I thought at first.

My feeling on them can be summed up by writer/activist Eve Insler:

“When you sign a pledge to your father to preserve your virginity, your sexuality is basically being taken away from you until you sign yet another contract, a marital one,” worries Eve Ensler, the writer and activist. “It makes you feel like you’re the least important person in the whole equation. It makes you feel invisible.”

purity rings arent a promise to our mothers and fathers, they're a promise to God. they're a marvelous image through fact it makes your wedding ceremony nighttime greater specific. I dont have a promise ring yet, yet i prefer one. You placed on a purity ring on your ring finger, then on the regulate, your husband to be takes it off and places on the marriage ring. i think of that symbolizes plenty, and no a hoop isnt a prop. I even have had the communicate and that i dont have a hoop yet. maximum christian households supply the daughters the hoop whilst they have the communicate. you're making assumptions you haven't any longer any concept approximately. You wouldnt comprehend that they supply the hoop as a prop, considering you were not in any respect given a hoop, its dumb and makes you appear to be an fool for doing that. i will actually wait till marriage, its no longer something that even looks as a call in my suggestions. the reason they're called promise rings is with the help of the fact we make the promise to God. we would desire to continually make the promise to God through fact he's the single that made us so we are in a position to ATLEAST make an common promise to him. And virginity has a suitable to be super casted on a hoop! One persn commented on that and that i had to state how incorrect i think of they're. human beings weare shirts putting forward there christian/athiest physique of suggestions, so why no longer declare the full dont do it till now marriage area? and that i additionally think of that rings are good through fact it helps us comprehend we made the promise, now we would desire to save it. people who make the promise, then destroy it are slutty and liars. i'm sorry that i suggested that, yet i like to declare the certainty. have a whats up! we pledge our allegiance, why no longer our virginity?

I was very disturbed by them when I read about them. I have nothing against waiting for marriage but this seems a bit over the top.

I'd rather see people making sure that their children know and understand how to have responsible sex, rather than pushing purity and then being shocked when it doesnt work.

Only because my mind went the WRONG way when I first heard of them.

(as did others, apparently.)

The idea that a man owns his daughter's virginity is very creepy, but it's Biblical, so if a Christian wants to promote that, I suppose more power to him. Glad I'm not one.

Its not creepy that someone would want to commit to not having sex until marriage.....
what is wrong with being a virgin when married?

I really hope that my daughter will be. I didn't have a choice.

Is that where you dunk your testies in holy water before copulation to insure a manchild is born?
