In Hindu Religion "Idol Worship" is not compulsory. There is a small Elitists' group who are called "Brahma Gjnaanis"(they are Hindus only). They need NOT worship any idol and need not perform any rituals and this 3/4/5 time "Prayers" and all is not necessary..BRAHMAM is ABOVE what other Religious people call G-O-D=GOD.

As far as I know, there is a sect in Hinduism, Arya samaj who are devout Hindus but they do not believe in idol worship and believe in one God.
But their God favours only Arya Race and among Aryans, Brahimans have special status.
So if you want to worship a no nosense Single , All powerful
and Omnipresent God, Try Islam. It has a totally uncompromising attitude for One God who has no son or
daughter. But He loves His creatures more than 70 times a
mother would love her Child.
You will get peace of mind and soul in Islam. There is no other religion like it. Believe me It is the only true religion in the world!

First if all there is no such thing as "idol worshipping". If you believe an object as a representation of your god, then that object is not an "idol" but simply a representation of Him so as to keep you mind focused on prayer. A prayer is a personal communication to God and so requires a definite focus. It is not broadcast communication sent in all direction. The concept of idolatry is a favorite tool of some "evangelists" who wants you to believe that their prayer method is the only valid one.

By "Idol Worship" I assume your parents have something very specific in mind, so you'll just have to find a way to keep them happy. You can worship any way you want, any deities you want without the Props. Picture them strongly in your mind, and they will be there.

Pray to God the Father. He's an accepted deity in Hinduism and has no Idol.

i am not a expert at this but i though i would give it a try.
i guess u can if u believe in mansi puja.
mansi puja is when u imagine the idol when your eyes are closed. not necessarily u have to be in front of the idol.
i guess u can try that.
