I don't go past 2 days. Maybe I'm just really picky about seafood. I've bought steamed shrimp before and after I realized I wouldn't be using it, I just tossed it in the freezer. That way when I do get around to making a dish with shrimp, I just lightly defrost it under running water, and toss it in the dish during the last 6-8 minutes of cooking just to heat it up. Nothing like shrimp on demand!

The problem with refrigerators is they are slightly warmer than the ideal temperature for seafood storage. Frozen shrimp can last a few weeks however refrigerated shrimp will only last 1 or 2 days.
Hope that helps!

At the restaurant I used to work at, we stored steamed shrimp in water w/ lots of lemon. We served it for a few days.

Any type of fish spoils faster than other dishes. Once I cook a fish dish, I will only keep it for 1-2 days after. I definitely am not the type of person to risk food poisoning.

Give it a sniff. If it smells of rotten fish it is too long.
