You can try system restore... Or if you have a disk for the program you deleted then use that and delete the program through Start/Control Panel/Add Remove Programs.

hey im 13 and i know the answer to that you can delete the icon but it wont give you anymore space because when an error comes up like that it either needs the program to run or its already deleted in a dfferent place. so go ahead and delete the folder then try to delete it on add/remove programs,it may work but if it doesnt then it needs the program or its alredy deleted off the hard drive and no im not a computer geek. i just know things well if you need anything els just leave another Q and i will look for it

REverting to a restore point is an option, but you will loose ANY file created after this point.

I would try REINSTALLING the program using the same defaults as before and then using the Add/Remove to remove it.

Lastly, check the folder where the file was located to see if there is an UNSTALL.EXE to Uninstall it.

If you know the name of the program than go to the Recycle Bin and restore the files that you delete.Or you could press F8 before windows start and choose the last known configuration that works.

Just download and install this program:

www.ccleaner.com

Under Tools, you can delete program entries for software that you deleted. You can also use this to cleanup junk registry entries and a number of other issues.
