All faiths are always under attack - including Atheism and Agnosticism. Christians just like to believe that its Satan attacking them so that they can feel self-righteous and self-important that such a powerful being would want to give them his undivided attention.

Christianity is under attack because the truth is being revealed. It is is not the peaceful and serene religion we were taught to believe. It is a system of extreme beliefs with all the same potential to become as dangerous as Islamic terrorists. Its history includes crusades and inquisitions. Abortion clinic bombings and violent homophobia are just two of the signs that this violent attitude continues. Why should we think for a moment that Christianity won't continue in the same direction toward 9-11 style terrorism as people react to war and divisiveness in politics? I long for the day when religion is looked down upon with as much scorn as atheism is now. If I believed in God and prayer, that would be my prayer. You can wish all you want, but the only solution is to fix the problem ourselves by educating people about the evil side of religion that most of them refuse to look at.

Christianity is rich, well resourced, state supported, assisted by indoctrination in schools and backed by powerful people. The christian church is the wealthiest organisation on Earth and has been for around 12 centuries, much of this wealth accrued through violent means.

Yet despite this numbers of Christians are generally plummeting. Even in the USA - where aposasy is not with consequence (it makes it illegal to hold office in 7 states, and most people polled say they would not elect an atheist president), numbers are falling bu at least 2% per year.

Its not under attack. It is doing the attacking. And its losing.

If science, in its independent and objective investigation of nature, uncovers facts that appear to contradict a literal interpretation of the Bible, then too bad for the Bible.

Conversely, if the Bible really enshrines Truth, then it has nothing to fear from science.

When it was suggested that it was more convenient to consider the sun to be the center of our system than the earth, the Church freaked out, because the Bible seemed to suggest otherwise. It wasn't that the scientists who suggested it were out to "get" Christianity - they were devout Christians themselves, and in fact deeply conflicted about the implications of their findings, yet driven to publish them anyway out of respect for the truth. The same remarks apply to Darwin, etc. Christianity is not "under attack," except insofar as the facts disprove its theories.

It's BECAUSE the Truth is being revealed, that Christianity is under attack.

There has never been a time when Christianity hasn't been under attack. And there has always been a time since the beginning of Christianity where the truth was being revealed. God does not sleep.

Christianity is not under attack. People are just getting fed up with Christians butting in their lives and trying to make laws based on their belief system.

I believe it's under attack, at least slightly. After all, I usually attack it.

God is revealing the truth, He is commanding us to see the truth.

It has never been a matter of how we honor God.
It has always been a matter of how we never dishonor God.

God is asking us to doubt the deceiver's who are condemning us. We are not reacting to true Christians we are reacting to people that have been lead astray and have become "wolves in sheep's clothing".
