My cat ate tensel off of our christmas tree, and yesterday he started puking it up. Well thats how we found out he was eating it. This morning when i picked him up therte was blood everywhere through our house and he was bleeding to. Please help me my mom says the tensel could have torn him up inside. He meows when you pick him up but hes still fairly normal like he always is. When he started puking yesterday we took his food away and that was around 1:00 p.m. i 'm scared to give him food thinking that may make it worse. i've had him since he was a kitten and hes around 9-10 months old. Were taking him to the vet tomorrow because there not open today and theres no one to call. please help me and my cat.

This is a vet emergency, you NEED to get him in to the vets so they can make sure all of it is out of his system. String, tinsel and thread that are eaten can clump up in the intestines and knot them up tight, putting the cat into shock. The fact there's blood and apparently lots of it would indicate an emergency. Get him to the vets.

well there's really nothing you can do. The tinsil gets caught up in their GI tract and can cause a blockage in the bowel. The blood maybe comming from his rectum, or from him vomiting...keep a close eye on him and take him in right away tomorrow. Is there a 24 clinic number you can call?

might have scratched lining, did he sick or poo tinsel up,if not might be lodged in throat or stomach so food wont go down, try giving small bits of food diced up to see if keeps down,as vet will ask this as well
