Thanks for your replies. My problem is that I have a correspondence course which only works on windows web browsers, not mac friendly. I want to simulate windows so I can finish my course on my mac... there used to be a program called soft windows. does that still exist?

yes their is no their not free google Parallels Desktop thats what I use and its grate I run everything from linux to windows xp on it

You can install Vista or Windows on any Intel Mac. Use Boot Camp (comes with OS 10.5) or using Parallels or Fusion. You can also install versions of Unix on the same box.
I think Firefox has a plug-in that emulates IE. Maybe that will work for you.

You got it backwards, Vista simulates OS X.

You can run vista on Os x.
You need an intel dual core, though.
