So here is the basic daily situation of a christian's day.
We have the flesh and the spirit as parts of our being. And wedged between these two is our soul with the mind being its leading function to choose between these two each day. There is an interesting crucial verse in Romans 8:6
" For the mind set on the flesh is death but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace"
So we see that this mind of our.. which a lot of us refer to as the " Battle Ground" between the flesh and the spirit has the ability to be " Set" on either our flesh with all its lusts and sinful tendencies or be set on the spirit which is the part of our being where the Lord Himself indwells.
Depending on what part of my being I feed will determine its power over another.
I was considering this and I want you to open it up through your answers for some consideration too. If i feed my flesh it will grow but Hallelujah! If i feed my spirit in the word and in prayer the Lord in me will OVERCOME all things

Hey brother Mickey:)
The " flesh" I am referring to here is not the physical body but the spiritual aspect of it ' the flesh". I agree.. we do feed our bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit.. but not the spiritual aspect through things of the world and indulging it in lusts...in this case.. the feeding should, I believe go toward the strengthening of our innerman with might! our spirit man!
Greater is He who is in us than He that is in the world right!
Praise the Lord we can have a strong healthy spirit.

Amen Sister
Galatians 6:8
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Galatians 5:16
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
I love Romans 8 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=52&chapter=8&version=9&context=chapter

First thing First The light of the Lord In us will overcome and out-do anything satan and his people through at us any-time any where.
Now the Feeding, If I feed my Heart Spiritually and Ask Father God In Heaven for a wife which, I definitly have asked him for, and don't have yet to me that's feeding the spirit, to trust in Father God in Heaven to answer such a request, because lonliness is nothing nic, so I feed myself with the word and listening to the spirit of Father God teach me. but to OVERCOME a Feeling in the Heart, first of all God knows what we feel and what we want, so yes my mind thinks how I would love-ly use my Imagination thinking about loving her evn tho I have'nt meant her yet. You really got me with this Question, It's almost like you have answered it as well, it's a question and a message and an answer.

How about The Lord teaching moderation?
If you only feed one aspect of yourself, you become unbalanced. You need the flesh as much as you need the spirit edified.
[edit]
There is nothing wrong with a healthy spirit, and I know the sense you were referring to regarding physical. My point is that if you focus your attention and feed the spirit, but don't partake in things of the world - those things that are not harmful to the spirit - then you will still be unbalanced. For instance - flying kites and going to a baseball game are neither evil nor spiritual (well... unless the Sox win). If one only focuses on the scriptures and God, how would one bring His word to others? The others would never believe someone who's "unbalanced" or, in the vernacular, a Jesus freak.

Very true. What we feed on in thought, is very much what we become. It is good to feed on the Word of God.
Thanks to the Fathers perfect plan, He sent Jesus so we can overcome through prayer and the Word. It is wonderful to know His spirit dwells in us.
It is also very helpful to read stories of Christians who have endured hardships, for standing in their faith. Also Christians who endured persecution for protecting others such as the Jews from persecution.
When we dwell with God, He teaches us so many good things, love, peace, and to stand up for our fellow man. God Bless!

There is a battle taking place in mans heart.
There are good and bad qualities living there.
Man must feed and develop the good qualities and learn to discard the bad.
What ever is within mans heart that receives food will indeed grow.
This is like weeding a garden. We must catch the bad qualities and discard them before they drop seeds and multiply!
The body of man is indeed that of which it consumes.
The soul of man is indeed that which man feeds and nourishes it with. Man must find that good food, and feed the soul, so that it will bear good fruits.
If a human truly wishes to feed the Soul (Jesus), then one must no longer find faults within others! This we have been told by (Jesus), is it not so?
Teachers are the most difficult to educate!
"Peace be always with you."
