Ok so for a while we had Paint on our desktop, if i can remember correctly I belive we got it there by dragging and dropping it instead of clicking on it and selecting the option. Anyways, I woke up this morning hoping to try and work on something using that program and the icon is no longer there. It is not in my recycling bin either and I can't find it in the start menu. I know it is still installed on my computer because when I right click on an image and select edit, it takes me to paint, but they are no icons to click on that will allow me to just bring it up the regular way starting a new project. I tried doing a search on my computer and nothing comes up, I checked the add and remove list to see if it was there and it's not, and I have been trying to manually find it in the files and folders on my computer and still have no luck. Does anyone know what happened and how to get it back into the start menu???? Thank you so much, I am really starting to get frustrated here!!!!!!!!!!!

OK its easy to create a new shortcut for it.

Right click on the desktop, click new, shortcut then type in mspaint where it asks for the location of the item click next and type in a name for the shortcut (anything you like here) then click finish.....job done

Paint's executable file hides in the "system 32" folder. The complete path is: My Computer/"C"/Windows/System32/mspaint.exe

Scroll down until you find the paint icon. Right click on it and then slide your curser down to "Send To" and then over to "Desktop, create a short cut" and click. That should put an icon back on your desk top.

Wild guess, the kids or the cat accidentally deleted the Desktop Icon.

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Systems Tools > System Restore. Then choose "Restore to an earlier date...". Pick the "Bolded" date before this happened and it will come back.
