There are so many possibilities:
1. Use mass transit (subway, bus...)
2. Don't litter
3. Recycle paper, cans, bottles. . .
4. Buy a canvas bag and use it when you go shopping.
5. Turn out the lights when you leave a room.
6. Buy a hybrid car like a Toyota Prius.
7. Carpool with friends.
8. Cut down on your meat consumption, as well as dairy and eggs. (Or buy locally!)
9. Take shorter, colder showers.
10. Buy organic.
11. Unplug your TV, your computer, and cell phone chargers when they aren't in use. Other electronics too.
12. Bike to your destination or walk!
13. In the winter, set your thermostat to 68 degrees. In the summer, 72.
Those are just some! There is so much that you can do! Good luck!

When u see a bottle on the street, pick it up. If we all did the same, there would be 6 billion fewer bottles in the ocean. U can also plant sum trees (in the spring!) for your community. Start using public transportation. Also try to get a cloth bag for shopping. Plastic bags r a major cause for pollution, but u can make a difference by putting all ur items in a reusable (and biodegradable) bag. And last but not least, get an environment-friendly shower head. These waist 30% less water than normal ones do.

You can do lots of things! Buy products in bulk to reduce the amount of packaging (cereal in bags from the bottom shelf are a great and less expensive alternative to the boxed brands that use so much packaging!), use less water by not running the dishwasher unless full or (gasp!) handwashing the dishes. Use bath towels more than once (we're clean when we get out of the shower, right?) Real important one right now: don't decorate outside, think of the electricity that could be saved if everyone would limit lights to the inside of the house, and not use those energy sucking inflatable snowmen/santas/etc., outside! The U.S. uses more natural resources than any country on the planet, so if everyone would get involved we could cut back on our energy/water use!

By painting yourself green. (Dammit I've always wanted to say that to environmentalists!)
Seriously though, try conserving energy. Segregate your trash. Use recyclable materials and drive a environmental-friendly car.

Sneer at anyone who drives the wrong vehicle, has the wrong-sized family or buys items housed in the wrong packaging.
While you won't actually be doing anything productive, your moral superiority will definitely help the environment.
