One of the unique things that it can take some time to realize is genuine Forgiveness. We all think that we have to earn it by beating ourselves up over every last imperfection, but in reality, that's what Jesus was a sacrificial lamb for. He paid for our sins.....
What that means is that when we make a mistake, God doesn't want us to quit moving forward in life to sit and dwell on what we did wrong and feel like crap about ourselves because of it, God wants us to move forward, shake the sin off (learn from it and try not to repeat it) and move on.
Being bold after being embarrassed can be difficult as well, but one Big thing that the Bible tells us is to let go of our ego and keep focus on service to God. This is a humbling thing to realize, but it helps us laugh at ourselves and own up to our mistakes.
All in all, God Loves us and by His own design can not stop Loving us. As long as you are going through life with God's intentions helping his Will to be done, instead of man's, stick your chest out and be Bold! This doesn't mean be mean or look down to others who are behaving worse than you, but it means Have Confidence in the Love and the Teachings of Love in the Bible. Be a source of that Love and that Peace and never be afraid to do Gods work, that is the Boldness that will encompass you on that journey. Peace, Love, and Forgiveness is what it's all about.
You'll soon find out that there are no mistakes, there are only situations we see as mistakes until we can learn from them and realize that they are all necessary lessons and are gifts of God.

How to be bold? First I think you must be sure of your standing. A wo/man who knows the ground they stand on is solid will walk more boldly than a wo/man who is in a swamp.
Second, you must have the confidence that even if you fall, even if it hurts, you will get back up again and keep going. As Christians we call it "putting on the armor of God" every day. We prepare ourselves for the little falls and hurts of life by wearing our armor.
Third, you can't be bold without being healthy. Healthy in your physical self, healthy in your mind and in your spirit.
I hope that helps. To give you any practical advice on day to day stuff, I'd have to know you better :)

2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
Proverbs 19:2 It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way.

It comes from accepting mistakes as part of life and having the confidence to strive for improvement. It also relates to having enough love for your fellow man for it to overcome your fear of repeat failure so that you can succeed by correcting your mistakes.
