I think the decline can be pinned down to the episode "A Blast for Buck", in which Buck tries to work out who the villain is by 'reminiscing' about past adversaries (subjecting us to clips of previous episodes, known as a bottle show), only to eventually work out that it's the little guy from Diff'rent Strokes sending him a New Year message, when everyone suddenly remembers the date is Deco 31, which in the old calendar is December 31. Boy, that was a denoument worth waiting for! At least they kept the theme tune in 9 Out of 10 Cats...

The first season of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century is my absolute favorite of any and all TV shows of all time. The second season was decent, but definitely a big, big drop from the first season. I wish that they could have made more episodes in the second season to redeem ratings and continued with a third season possibly going back to Earth, bringing back Princess Ardala, and who knows what else. I think it ended way too soon.

No, except for only maybe a few. I've noticed that if you don't agree with something, be it a list, or an idea, people feel personally attacked. The thumbs up/down don't bother me one bit, I really don't even pay attention to those, because no matter how good of an answer you give, someone will ultimately sit there with a big smile on their face and slam their mouse click on the thumbs down, thinking how good they got you with it. What does bother me, is when someone asks your opinion, you give it, and then they go on a tirade. If people don't want criticism for something, they shouldn't put it out there for everyone to see. Yep only 2 series of Buck was made between 1979 & 81.The usual chestnut of poor ratings & high production costs got the show canned after #2.

Yeah, there was a lot of competiton with other shows and the figures dipped.

A lot of people also disliked the hawk character and the whole season 2 - 'We are on a ship travelling' a Star trek rip off.

i think the design team realised the sets supposed to be in the 25century were been over passed by the 80's technology making it look a bit dated only after 2 seasons

plus threes only so many beedi beedi beedies and 'right on buck' we can take from a robot

They had it on a poor time slot. The show was cool with its special effects and everything. Just that they had Buck Rogers in poor time slot. I thought it was better when they brought Thom Christopher on as Hawk.

You have to admit it was pretty silly. Tweeky was the only reason I watched it at all. And yes, I noticed the women were attractive and I noticed their costumes but I didn't watch "Bay Watch" either.
