First off, how do you know that is really him? How do you know he is not a pervert in his mom's basement. Have you talked to him on the phone, or just via internet? If you are a teen, have you told your parents? Think it through. I do not think it will work, sorry.

Yes it can work, but the odds are not in your favor.
As the internet lets us met people we would have never had the opportunity otherwise it is easy to have feelings for someone we have not met in person, We get to know them through long written conversations and maybe even an occasional phone call or text.
That being said, be careful and do not build some one up to what you want them to be. We always put our best face on when trying to impress someone. So when and if you start seeing contradictions in what they are telling you, see it as a warning sign they are not who they appear to be.
I met my love over the internet and it took a long time to meet about 5 years I think. We both lived our lives with out ever dreaming that one day we would meet, but circumstance led us to a meeting, and after the first meeting and we have been together ever since. It took alot of planning and detours, and hard decisions but we have been happy in our decision and blessed in your patience.
But I warn you .. do be careful, and be aware every step of the way.. there are lots of horror stories of people who go to meet someone, and do not have the same fortunate ending as I.

i do not think you are in love or even real like... without ever meeting this person face to face. i like or love what the person says... the the imagine you have. but you do not truly no this person...and even after you meet.. ..it is difficult sometimes. but if you have not met... you do not even know if this is really a guy or girl... young or old. just a voice...or someone text messaging that may not even be the same person. long distance love is tough... even if you have met. it is not dumb... just unrealistic... you might have a forty sixty chance if you are both visiting back and forth on a regular basis..and that will get old after awhile.

how could you decide how you felt if you never actually met? you might like what you know about him on the internet, but in person he may be a totally different person. distance is always a problem in having a relationship. don't give up, but go slowly. don't build it up in your mind without several meetings and lots of time spent together (in the same room!)

If you haven't met him, you do not love him. Yes it is that simple. No there are not exceptions. Case closed.
If you want to persue a relationship with someone you met online, then the first thing you need to do is take it OFFLINE. I met my wife online, and We are great together, but only because we took it to the real world, and got off the keyboard.

"love" without meeting is impossible. really loving someone takes time together - no one can express his or her entire self over the phone, internet, letters, or whatever. that being said, it is very possible that you could become fond enough of someone to want to meet them to see if love is a possibility.

Maybe.
It worked for me, for some time.
I ended up getting hurt.
But I'd strongly advise against it.
