Our Holy Father isn't "the European Pope". He's the earthly leader of all Catholics everywhere in the world, and as such, man-made international political boundaries really don't matter. The Pope is chosen from among the conclave of cardinals, and it is far from being an ordinary election. Those cardinals will be the first to tell you that it is not they who are doing the choosing, but rather the Holy Spirit.
As usual, God knows exactly what He is doing. Cardinal Ratzinger was an excellent choice to become Pope - a very intelligent and learned man, who can more than hold his own in any intellectual and theological argument. A believer in, and defender of, the True Catholic Faith handed down to us directly from Jesus Christ and the Apostles.
Sometimes I get a kick out of the secular American news media trying to, in it's own peculiar way, make what they consider sense out of the whole process. Most of them approach the whole thing as though it were an American political election.
One answerer here correctly noted that the Catholic Church is not a democracy. It never has been, and never will be, and that's exactly as it should be. There are many organizations that are not democratic in nature, and would not function properly if they were (Examples: the Church, the family, the army/navy/marines, most decent schools - all examples of entities that are, by necessity, authoritarian in nature)
edit:
go ahead and give this as many thumbs-down as you want - it's the truth, and a thumbs-down won't change that

You seem to need a lesson in basic Christianity and Catholicism.
The Church is:
+ A theocracy, not a democracy. On Sunday, November 27, the entire worldwide Catholic Church celebrated the Feast of Christ the King
+ Led by God, not by the Pope or the individual members
God has selected the Pope to be the Earthly leader of the entire worldwide Catholic Church. In this role, the Pope does speak for all Catholics.
If people do not agree with the Catholic Church of Christ then they are free to leave the Church.
Although the Pope was born in Europe, he is not "the European Pope," he is the Pope of the entire worldwide Catholic Church
With love in Christ.

It's "absurb" (a bit of dyslexia there?) to even ask this ... likewise the blood transfusion and postmortem questions ... but in the interest of perhaps enlightening you a bit, the Pope is not the "European Pope". His authority extends to all Catholics.
The pope's purpose is to lead the Church so that all will be in communion and represent what Jesus founded, the one, Holy, Catholic and apostolic church. Whether he is from (or resides in) Europe, or Africa, or either of the polar ice caps for that matter is irrelevant.
And as far as the faithful "organizing in a democratic manner" because they want to change things, this is what our current pope had to say about it:
"I think we must reflect more on what democracy in the exercise of authority would mean. Is truth determined by a majority vote, only for a new 'truth' to be 'discovered' by a new majority tomorrow?"

I even have liked all the Popes as each brings his own mark to the place of work of Saint Peter. No Pope can despite the fact that replace the scriptures - they're the observe of God and basically God can replace them. The Pope therefor translates the scriptures into our daily existence and he can basically motivate us to stick to the scriptures. would God supply him training.

Well, According to catholic faith, there is the concept of papal infallibility, and all catholics consider him to be the holiest man on earth. if someone doesn't like the Pope, he is rejecting a part of Catholicism.

There is no European Pope. There is only one universal Vicar of Jesus Christ, just as there is one universal Jesus Christ - Who incidentally, was European, and was not elected.

Are you a member of the old "NO NOTHING PARTY". Or the KKK
It seems you like Martin Luther and hold him up to be a hero here are some of his quotes mind you their are many more. It also surprises me you all get down on the corrupt sex scandal of the Catholic church but due to your ignorance your protestant faith was formed by a sexual deviant.
God has appointed me for the whole Protestant faith, and I boldly vouch and declare that when you obey me you are without a doubt obeying not me but Christ Whoever does not, despises not me but Christ. I believe that we are the last trump that sounds before Christ is coming. What I teach and write remains true even though the whole world should fall to pieces over it. Whoever rejects my doctrine cannot be saved. Nobody should rise up against me. I have greater confidence in my wife and my pupils than I have in Christ, When I beheld Christ I seemed to see the Devil. I had a great aversion for Christ. I was horrified at the name of Christ, and when I regarded Him on the Cross, it was as if I had been struck by lightning; and when I heard His name mentioned, I would rather have heard the name of the Devil. I did not believe in Christ. God did mischievously blind me; God often acts like a madman God paralyses the old and blinds the young and thus remains master. I look upon God no better than a scoundrel God is stupid. Christ committed adultery with the woman at the well about whom Saint John tells us. Was not everybody saying: `What has he been doing with her?” Secondly, with Mary Magdalene, and thirdly with the woman taken in adultery whom He dismissed so lightly. Thus even Christ, who was so righteous, must have been guilty of fornication before He died. It does not matter what people do; it only matters what they believe. God does not need our actions. All He wants is that we pray to Him and thank Him. It does not matter how Christ behaved what He taught is all that matters. What does it matter whether we commit a new sin? Faith cancels all sin. No other sin exists in the world except unbelief, Sometimes it is necessary to commit some sin out of hatred and contempt for the Devil. What does it matter if we commit a sin. You must say my sins are not mine; they are not in me at all; they are the sins of another they are Christ's and are none of my business. Christianity is nothing but a continual exercise in feeling that you have no sin although you sin, but that your sins are thrown on Christ. From the moment you acknowledge that Christ bears your sins, He becomes the sinner in your place. Be a sinner, and sin boldly, but believe more boldly still. Not only men, but the Saints and Apostles must be sinners. The Saints must be good, downright sinners. The Apostles themselves were sinners, regular scoundrels…I believe that the prophets also frequently sinned grievously. You owe nothing to God except faith and confession. In everything else He lets you do whatever you like. You may do as you please, without any danger of conscience whatsoever. Marriage is an outward material thing like any other secular business. The body has nothing to do with God. In this respect one can never sin against God, but only against one's neighbor. The matrimonial duty is never performed without sin. The matrimonial act is a sin differing in nothing from adultery and fornication
The word and work of God is quite clear, women were made either to be wives or prostitutes. If your wife does not want sex, take another. It is not forbidden that a man cant have more than one wife.
