It depends on your manner as you give her the book. If you said "I thought you might find this interesting because I know you like (x)", then that's fine because it shows that you're trying to expand her horizons but are still taking her tastes into account. However, if you say "I've bought you this book because I think you should read more", well, that's just patronising and rude.
I didn't quite understand the latter part of your question but I'm assuming that you're listing some examples of things that she likes that you don't approve of. That does sound a bit snobbish to me and I'm wondering if you'd be better matched with someone who shares your interests?

You could make it very romantic by inscribing some sweet, loving message one the inside of the book cover and inserting little notes between some of the pages that she will find as she reads.

I am a female bookworm....I love books to the exclusion of everything else....including jewelry and clothing.
Why did you write Motel, coca-cola, pizza and nothing of culture?

it depends on the book you give her... if it sounds brainy, then she will definitely think that you think that she's smart... but if you give her a no brainer book or something that wouldn't be useful in developing her skills and talents further, then whe wouldn't appreciate it... always give her the reason why that gift was given her...
