Losing Weight and toning up?
I know with losing weight you have to burn more than your daily intake of calories but do you have to do the same with toning up? Or can you just do normal exercise, feel the burn and forget about burning more than you intake?

For all of you who dont understand my question I am basically asking: Do you have to burn more calories than you intake, to tone up?

to tone up - the same amount (what you eat, you burn), because you do not have to lose weight

Losing weight is - as you said - consuming fewer calories than you expend. You can affect this balance by either consuming less, expending more or both.

Toning up comes under the "expending more" category. In toning up, you are using your muscles more in order to tone them. Muscle burns more fuel, so you will burn more calories by toning. So in addition to firming up muscles, toning up in itself may cause you to lose weight depending on your caloric intake.

If you don't want to lose weight, you may find that you can actually eat more and stay the same weight if you are actively toning.

Well losing weight is getting rid of all your excess fat and toning up is turning that fat into muscle. So to answer your question i think, yes i think you burn more calories than you intake because muscle buliding excersises burn ALOT of calories.
