No.

He would have been more correct to replace "Atheism" with "Christianity."

Ever hear of the Spanish Inquisition? The Crusades?

What justification did they have to murder people JUST for not believing in their deity?

That is the essence of why I openly hate all Christians.

i find it strange the way the way the article for some reason does NOT provide the whole sentences. This is normally when the reporter wishes to take sentences out of context to provoke a reaction. Just look how the article quotes a few words each time and builds sentences around it.

This is what they done to get people rioting over the popes speech which resulted in the death of a nun.

I would like to see EXACTLY what was said to pass judgement.

However, the pope also critises christians themselves so it´s not all one sided. And calling him a Nazi is a bit racist. Of course, we pick and choose what is racism these days.

First off the Catholic Church is the last group that should be talking about others preforming "The Greatest Forms Of Cruelty And Violations of Justice"

Also I think he is confusing Atheism with Communism.

NO. That's a lie put about by religious people. Hitler was Christian. Most ( not all, I admit) of the worlds worst human rights violations happen in very fundamentalist religious countries.

Your average atheist is better educated, less criminal, more tolerant of diversity, more intelligent and altruistic. Religious people spew out this hateful cr@p because they believe humans are inherently bad and only kept on the straight and narrow by the threat of some all powerful bogeyman. They can't accept that it's perfectly normal for humans to be moral without being bribed or threatened. They have a low opinion of our species.

I, however, know that every kind act on this world was inspired by humanity.

He is incorrect. If you look at Christianity over the hundreds of years, they have been involved in the most heinous acts. Look at the Holy Wars, forcing of Indians to convert to the 'so called Christian Way', blessing young people to go to war(World War 1 & 2, Korean War). Catholics especially supported Hilter and did not deduce the extermination of millions of innocent people. They have sent missionaries to Africa for financial gain. The list go on and on. The Muslim world have recognized their hypocrisy for years even though they are just as guilty. Read Matthew 7:21-23 because this was foretold. But there is one religion that do not support any wars and look forward to the 'Lord's prayer' being fulfilled.

I think that Catholicism is the "greatest form of cruelty and violation of justice". I only say this because I can't think of any other religion that plays games with its clergy the way they do. If they were really "Christians" and followed Christ than we would hear less about sexual immoralities (or at least some sort of strict punishments for such offense) occurring in their organization. I am not saying that Catholics are bad people but the church has MAJOR issues.

The Atheistic Soviet Union was responsible for the death of 61,911,000 victims of genocide and mass murder in just 70 years from 1917 to 1987. http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/NOTE4.HTM

I find it interesting when some people say that the proven and documented crimes against humanity of the Atheistic Communist leaders of the 20th century cannot be blamed on Atheism but the almost mythical crimes of "Catholic" leaders for the last 20 centuries should be blamed on Catholicism today.

Have you read Pope Benedict's encyclical Spe Salvi: On Christian Hope? Here it is: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/encyclicals/documents/hf_ben-xvi_enc_20071130_spe-salvi_en.html

With love in Christ.

He is wrong, it is not athiesm nor for that matter, religion that leads to those crimes it is the human factor. No religion or idealogy is executed perfectly when done through fallible humans, even though the intentions behind them are good. The success or failure of it (religion or idealogy) is dependent on humans, who are imperfect. And that goes for religion and athiesm or anything else whether it be driving a car or running a bussiness.

No I don't think so. Being cruel and violating justice has nothing to do with what religion the person is, its how the person is wired inside. There are some woah religious people who do terrible things and there are some woah atheist people who do terrible things-you can't make blanket judgements.

No.

Apparently being a godless European Pope leads to hiding child crimes from the secular police, to Adolf Hitler type Spanish Inquisitions/Crusades, and to hating all women on planet earth.

The politician Pope fibs as often as pagans do.

Worship God, not the Pope.
