H. Hemochromatosis a term used for iron overload in the body. Its said to exist when total body iron is in excess of 4 g. Since the excess iron deposits are not good for your body, the common treatment is phebotomy.

Each unit of blood removed takes about 250 mg of irom from your body and cannot be donated. Also, total iron levels and ferritin levels (test that checks the stored iron in the liver) need to checked often.

There maybe other types of treatment, but you should check with your doctor for options.

Hope this helps!!! Good Luck.

Just read the link, which was quite interesting. It sounds like you will have joint pain, if you dont' already, and a problem with too much iron in your system.
I hope there are good medications for this. I'm not usually a big proponent of being a vegetarian, but this might be a very good option for you to consider since there is lots of iron in meat.
I would consult with a good nutritionist.
Good luck.
