I've seen China on TV, I've never seen God not even there.
But you're right. It's pointless to bomb us with such questions. We don't believe - period.

Your attempt at rational thought has failed.
If you make an absolute claim then you have to back it up with absolute proof. Something that most religious people FAIL to do.
China is real because anyone can go and visit it. There are photos of China, there is a MAP of China, there are plenty of WRITTEN records of China.
Let's put a spin on your question. Why bother asking religious people question when the only answers they will give is I believe in god because I have been told to believe in god, or you have to have faith, or its true because it says so in the bible.

It isn't pointless to ask an atheist about religion. All atheists are different, with different knowledge, from different backgrounds.
Many atheists have studied religion, or were once religious. Many atheists know more about world religion than people who dogmatically follow one faith.
Many people who are religious have no idea about other religions, or how they came into being.
Your question about China is a different question.
(You have never seen a leprechaun, does that mean it exists?)
"Why it's pointless to ask religion questions to atheists...?"
Are you saying only a religious person knows what the most popular religion in the word is?
Or what pre-Biblical religions in the Middle East were?
Or what famous people were religious?
or what effect religion had on an ex-Muslim/Christian etc who is now atheist?
Do you not see that atheism belongs in a religious Q and A as it is fundamentally a position regarding religion and spirituality?

That's because some people, not just atheists or Christians, aren't very good at argumentation, and anyway this is a rotten place to actually have a decent conversation about religion.
There are plenty of atheists who are capable of carrying on a civilized conversation about God or the lack thereof. Anyway, there are plenty of non-atheists who are also terrible conversationalists, they'll start quoting verses at you as though that ought to clear the matter once and for all.
But hey, if you're asking a question, that's one thing. If you're trying to get someone over to your side, no wonder you're disappointed with the fact that they don't comply.

In theory, you could go to China. Then again, how would you know it's China?
People claim to have been in China, but, as we know, the Atheists and Skeptics have thrown out all testimony given by witnesses as they are "Not Trained Observers" or "Are All Deluded". So, any evidence of a person having claimed to have been in this China place, is suspect, and must be thrown out.
There are pictures having been taken, claiming to be of a place called China. However, since I have seen the idea that, again from our good friends at the American Skeptic Society, that since pictures can be faked, all photographic evidence must be discarded as unreliable, and since we really only have witness testimony that it *is* a picture of a place called China, and i believe that we covered witness testimony above, we really can't take it as any form of reliable evidence.
Well, you could go to this China place, but, how could you be sure you were in China? You would be standing in a place, could be anywhere, and people would be telling you that it is China, but, I believe we have already disallowed "personal experience" as not being any kind of reliable evidence, and other peoples "personal experience" is also not allowed as evidence. So, even if you believed that people were correct in that you were in this China place, we can't believe you when you tell us you were in China.
Oddly enough, when you apply the same rules of evidence that is used for the paranormal to all other forms of evidence, it's really impossible to prove that anything actually exists.

Sad pathetic deluded religious cretin.... We do not believe in your god because it stands outwith all human knowledge of physics and has no physical proof, only stories written by HUMANS. Now I have never seen china either but i believe in it because it is IN THE BOUNDARIES OF REASON!! Unlike an omnipotent, omniscient, invincible, immortal man that has created everything and lives in heaven. It's a ridiculous notion and without any proof becomes unbelievable.

Is China a magical realm that was written about thousands of years ago, is said to bring you good fortune and take you to a happy euphoric place as long as you remained in their control and operated within their rules, otherwise punishment will be eternal pain and suffering? Has someone been to China since this magical realm was written about? Have you MET someone from China since it was written about in a magical fairy tale?
In the same context as your question. Have you ever MET a celebrity? They must not exist then. have you ever seen bacteria? They must not exist then.

I think the atheists you've been in conversation with are perhaps as low brow as some of the religious people I've had conversations with. you won't get into heaven by disrespecting others no matter what their beliefs, or from the atheist point of view, you won't get to heaven but you may get to China some day.

There are religious atheists and non-religious theists. Some non-religious people believe in God or an ultimate concern of another kind which is supernatural, and some religious people are agnostic or atheist, for instance Jains, who are often dogmatically and fervently atheist, and Buddhists, who believe God is irrelevant regardless of whether there is one or not. I would challenge the assumptions you are making.

Difference is, China is verifiable by billions of independent witnesses and documents.
No such thing exists for God. There's not a single one. When that changes, we're interested.
